Walking Tall: Shukracharya’s Inspiring Journey to a Straight Knee
Pune: At fifty, Shukracharya Jangale, a farmer from Latur district, had weathered many a storm, but none quite as daunting as the past four long years he spent with a severely bent knee. His once agile frame was burdened by the weight of his condition, a constant reminder of the challenges life could throw his way.
September 23, 2023, will forever be etched in Shukracharya’s memory. It was the day he found himself on a journey of hope and transformation.
Shukracharya underwent a robotic knee replacement surgery at Pune’s SaiShree Hospital – a place where miracles happen, and dreams are reborn.
Dr. Neeraj Adkar, founder-director of SaiShree Hospital in Pune, who stood as the beacon of Shukracharya’s newfound hope, performed the surgery.
Recalling his state before the surgery, Shukracharya said, “For the past four years, my world had almost shrunk to the confines of my home, and dependency on others was frustrating. I was a nimble farmer once but a severely bent knee condition had reduced me to a limited movement.”
Restricted movements took a toll on more than just his body; it put a dent in his farming efforts. And the impact wasn’t limited to his fields alone. Shukracharya’s family bore the weight of his condition as well.
“My husband shouldered so much for us over the years. And for the last four years, I was helpless and watched him struggle with each painful step,” his wife said.
Post-surgery, Shukracharya’s transformation was nothing short of extraordinary. He went from a man whose world had shrunk to four walls, to a farmer who strode through his fields with newfound vigor. “Those four years were like a prison. I couldn’t be the farmer I wanted to be, and it hurt my family too. But now, look at me! Dr. Adkar gave me my life back!,” he said.
Dr. Neeraj Adkar, the maestro behind this transformation, couldn’t hide his satisfaction. He remarked, “Seeing Shukracharya back on his feet and thriving in his fields is the kind of success story that drives me. The Cuvis system is a game-changer, and it’s not just for one person—it’s for millions like Shukracharya who deserve to live life to the fullest.”
