Gold Knee Plasty
- Gold Knee Plasty, is a surgical procedure in which only the damaged part of the knee joint is replaced with an artificial implant. This procedure is typically performed when the damage is limited to one compartment of the knee, usually the medial (inner) or lateral (outer) compartment. This approach is becoming increasingly popular as it offers several potential benefits, including:
- Customized fit with high precision: A gold plasty knee replacement is designed to closely match the patient’s unique anatomy, providing a more customized fit & precision.
- Preservation of joint & healthy tissue: Unlike a total knee replacement, which involves removing all the knee joint surfaces, gold plasty knee replacement only replaces the damaged portion of the knee. This helps preserve healthy tissue and ligaments in the knee.
- Walk on same day post-surgery: Due to smaller incision, preservation of the joints & tissues patients is able to recover faster and able to walk on same day (should I mention that anaesthesia exposure is less)
- Faster recovery: Since gold plasty knee replacement is a less invasive procedure compared to a total knee replacement, patients often experience a faster recovery time and shorter hospital stay.
- Improved range of motion: Patients who undergo a gold plasty knee replacement may experience improved range of motion and better function in the affected knee compared to before the surgery.
- Reduced risk of complications: Since a gold plasty knee replacement is a less extensive surgery, there may be a reduced risk of complications such as infection, blood clots, and stiffness. .
- Long term survival of the joint: The implants used in gold plasty are made of Titanium niobium nitrate & the poly used is of vitamin E material, thus making the implant durable and suitable for all individuals.
- Natural knee sensation: Patients enjoy a completely natural knee sensation when moving around since the operation is comparatively less invasive in nature causing minimum to least amount of damage/harm to the muscles and tissues.
